Starting at Strive Fitness was the best thing I have done for myself in years! When I came to the gym in March of 2017 I knew I wanted to lose weight. I had reached a point where I had to stop the pattern of slowly gaining weight. Derek worked with me to figure out my goals. I found not only the strength to lift weights, but the strength within myself to know I could achieve my goals. I have lost over 45 pounds with the supportive nutrition plan at Strive and guidance from Derek. No matter how crazy my life gets, during weeks where I am only able to make it to the gym one day, I still make it, it is a commitment and a promise I keep to myself. Derek keeps workouts fun, and different. He always mixes it up, so it is never the same workout twice. The encouragement you get from the Strive family has made all the difference!

Mother of 2 loses over 25 lbs

I finally found what I was looking for in a trainer/gym with Strive Fitness and Performance and Derek! I needed someone who could motivate me with my weight loss goals, a place I felt comfortable and ongoing support! Strive and Derek offer all of this! I started in August and have lost 13 pounds and feel great! I look forward to working out! Everyone has similar goals in mind and are very welcoming! Derek starts out slowly with changing your daily habits and makes it easy to have success so obtain your weight loss goals and keep them! I love my new healthy lifestyle habits! He also offers different challenges often which are great to keep you motivated. I just completed the 21 day challenge where I lost 8 pounds and learned to eat better! He knows how to work with every fitness level by offering modifications and works with you on what you want and need. I never knew when to breathe when doing my own workouts or at other gyms and Derek works with me on every exercise to teach me when to inhale and exhale. Bride loses body fat for her wedding

Before starting my training with Derek and Strive I was working out on my own and eating some what healthy. At first results came rather fast but then my weight seemed to just stay consistent. I wasn't gaining, nor losing. After my now husband proposed I knew this was my motivation to really get into shape. I have always been on the thinner side but as I get older I can see my body shape changing and harder to stay toned. I love food and my Italian family doesn't make it easy to watch what you eat.
As I jumped into wedding planning, I soon became stressed and overwhelmed. With the juggling of work, wedding planning, family, and personal life, I found it easy to talk myself out of going to the gym. I knew I needed someone to hold me accountable.
One day I was scrolling thru Facebook when I came across the Bridal Bootcamp Program at Strive. I filled out the info and heard from him soon after. We discussed short and long term goals. After trying out a session I knew that this is what I needed. A group setting to motivate each other yet designed to work with each of our individual goals. He provided useful information on nutrition and recipes to help us prep.
Because I didn't have much to lose I knew my nutrition would have to be stricter. Of course I disliked cutting out some of my favorites but after seeing results in the first 4 weeks I knew this was the best program for me! I started this program in May of 2016 and since have lost 8 inches and 5% body fat before my September nuptials. I have and will continue my workout rituals with Derek and the rest of the fit fam! I will also continue to refer and recommend everyone to Derek:)

Strive Fitness & Performance is a real gym with real people. People who support & encourage each other. People who are truly interested in improving their physical & nutritional well being.
Derek is just as committed to teaching good nutrition as he is to making sure you are doing the exercises properly.
We just finished a 6 week transformation challenge & with some hard work & support from Derek & my gym partners I was able to lose 20 pounds & 15 inches!!!

Woman loses 40 lbs

I've just hit my one year anniversary with Derek at Strive and I can honestly say I am a completely different person after one year and my body transformation is far from over.  Strive has changed the way I look at taking care of myself, I focus on getting stronger and pushing myself to do today what I could not do yesterday. The modifications Derek made for me in the beginning were the building blocks to the success I see today, and with the wonderful support from my fitfam I'm achieving things I've never thought possible including losing 45 pounds...so far. It's always challenging, but Derek always makes it achievable and that makes every workout feel like a success!      #bettertogether

Over the past few months I have been strengthening and training with Strive Fitness and Performance to help with my ACL Rehab.

I am a junior at L'Anse Creuse High School and was on the varsity soccer team last year. Unfortunately during one of the soccer games I tore my ACL and ended up having total reconstruction surgery in August.

Derek has increased my abilities to cut, sprint, and jump astronomically in order to get me back to playing soccer. We have worked on correcting my form and basics in order to ensure a successful recovery.

In a short month my club team has tryouts and Derek is the reason I can go back to playing soccer with confidence that I am ready. Thank you Derek for all your help!

I decided to go to STRIVE Fitness and Performance because I wanted to become a stronger and more powerful athlete for my volleyball season. I have been participating in Derek's strength and conditioning sessions for a little over a year now and have been nothing but satisfied!

Through the Jump Academy at Strive, my speed on the court and vertical leap inceased.  Through a combination of plyometric and weight training exercises selected specifically for volleyball players, I was able to become a better player. The end results were not only supported by stats that Derek took at the end of the class session but physically when I felt much stronger and faster on the volleyball court.

Derek truly pushed every single one of us in the class to add/increase the weight in each exercise to seek better results. I found the experience very helpful because I now know what exercises to do to help my volleyball performance and how to do them in the correct form to get results without hurting myself. I would definitely recommend STRIVE simply because of Derek's passion to help every one succeed in what they are trying to achieve.

When I walked into Strive Fitness and Performance, I was looking to get in more activity to move past a weight loss plateau I had hit. What I came out with was so much more then just a new work out routine.  I was given the support and tools needed to work on being a healthy, stronger and more fit person.  Derek's programs have pushed me to work harder and have allowed me to see just how far I can go in my weight loss and fitness journey.  It is not always easy, but Derek provides the motivation and support to continue in my journey.  He has made exercise fun yet challenging and I have made so much progress not only in my weight loss but in my strength and confidence. Derek has helped make fitness and health a priority in my life, and with his help I have encouraged my husband to join me and have had a positive impact on my children as well.  They are always excited to hear what I did in class when I get home.  He helped me prepare for my first ever 5K (actually running) and since then I have 3 more races lined up.  This is more then just a gym, it is a family and it has become a new way of life for me and my family.

Bride loses 20 pounds before wedding

I've spent years trying to figure out the best routine for my lifestyle and weight loss goals.   I've gone from doing cardio, machines, and weights at the gym, to bootcamp and kickboxing classes, to barre classes, spinning, and everything in between. At some point I would always find an excuse to not workout and often let the stress of my work schedule and management position get in my way.

All of those things worked for me for a certain amount of time but the thing that was missing was Derek Ledwidge. He has motivated and coached me and held me accountable along the way and it keeps me from giving up on myself. He celebrates the little things and makes you realize how far you've come. Strive Fitness and Performance is like nothing else, it's an amazing group of people that support each other every step of the way. Since joining, I have lost a little over 20 lbs and I'm half way to my weight loss goal - A task I originally thought was IMPOSSIBLE. It's truly not even about the weight loss anymore, at this point that is just an added bonus. The way I feel after every workout is what keeps me coming back for more. I'm addicted! I recommend this community to anyone, no matter what your end goal or challenges are. Derek will coach you every step of the way and you will become a better version of yourself no matter what!

Male loses 15 pounds

I have been a member of the Strive Fitness and Performance for over 6 months. I was the person telling myself week after week and month after month that I needed to get off the couch and make a change. I was a little nervous and was not sure what to expect. From the first day, I started it has been nothing but positive. Derek makes you feel right at home as well as all the other members that I have met. Derek keeps the workouts different and fresh from day to day and week to week and that is what I really like. The workouts are something you can understand and push yourself at your own level and they are something you can do at home or on the weekend. I also like that Derek sends out information weekly on nutrition, eating habits, sleep, positive attitude and helps you set goals. My goal was to feel better and have more energy and as a bonus, lose some weight. I do fell better and I have more energy and yes, as a bonus I have lost 4" off my waist and like Derek explained we will be building muscle so don't get caught up in the weight loss.

In my first month I had a case of Sciatica, never witnessed so much pain. I did not show up for class. Derek told me to come in, he altered my workout so we could get me back on track and he also networked me with a chiropractor, after a couple of weeks pain free and not an issue since.

I am so happy I made the decision to join this family and we always end with "Better together"

Male athlete loses twenty five pounds

After many years as an Iron distance triathlete, the core work, strength and conditioning done at Strive Fitness and Performance has helped my body position in the swim and run. My swim has decreased by 6 seconds per 100 yards making me more efficient and conserving energy for the marathon.  The easy to follow nutrition plan Derek put me on allowed me to lose 35 lbs without losing muscle and performance during my races.  I was able to accomplish this without restricting my diet and losing all of my energy during my training sessions.  All the time and work I have put in at Strive has been priceless.

Joining STRIVE Fitness and Performance was life changing for me. I just completed a 6 week program and have lost 11 pounds and many inches of belly fat. Each class is motivating and fun. Derek helps everyone by showing the right and wrong way of doing exercises. The group is full of amazing, friendly, motivating people. There is never any judgment only motivation. I plan on staying with Derek for a long time because I feel as though there is still so much to learn about proper nutrition and exercise. This is truly an awesome environment for fitness and weight loss.

As a former college athlete, I have been exposed to various strength training workouts and eating programs in my day. I have been looking for something that would both fulfill my competitive drive and be safe for me to do with all of the knee surgeries that I have had. Derek Ledwidge designs workouts to challenge me and provides modifications that are designed to help me protect my knees. Since starting workouts at the STRIVE facility, I have dropped 20lbs, but most importantly, increased my strength. My knees no longer hurt. I feel stronger and healthier than I have in years. The knee replacement surgery that was looming in my very near future looks to be much farther off in the distance. The STRIVE family is so welcoming, supportive and non-judgmental. Derek promotes this atmosphere and is so supportive and encouraging. He really understands how to motivate athletes at any and all levels. I have found a workout place to call home.
